South Carolina teachers, not corporate tax cuts

South Carolina has cut more from its education budget (24.1%) than any other state. Now we are running a budget surplus of almost a billion dollars. For the last four years, teachers have not been paid the salaries they were promised when they accepted their positions. Yet Governor Nikki Haley wants to keep teacher salaries frozen so she can use the state's surplus funds for a corporate tax cut.
That's why I created a petition to the South Carolina House and Senate on SignOn.org, which says:
Use returning revenues to honor our state's commitment to its teachers and fully fund our schools.
Will you sign the petition? Click here to add your name, and then pass it along to your friends:
Thanks!
