Robert Dobbs, a Democratic candidate for S.C.-1, has announced he'll support U.S. Senate Democratic candidate Mike Ruckes because he's the only other "progressive" running for national office in S.C.
I am endorsing Mike and he is endorsing me. We are the only two "Progressives" running in both elections. We had a real good talk today.
“Mike has a proven record of standing up for progressive values and for what he believes is right. I am proud to endorse Mike Ruckes for U.S. Senate. Mike is a man of integrity and conviction that will represent South Carolina well in the U.S.Senate. No other candidate in the race will represent the State of South Carolina as Mike Ruckes will. We need to have Mike Ruckes in the U.S. Senate!”
Dobbs expanded on the conversation with Ruckes.
Mike and I spoke for quite a while today and we really see eye to eye on the major issues. Mike is just like myself, a hard working person who truly believes in representing the people of our respective electorates. We both believe the Public Option needs to be in any health care reform, we both believe the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are taking financial resources away from the needs of our citizens, and we both believe in standing for our beliefs whether they get us elected or not. We both will not compromise just to get into office and we both won't allow the corporations or special interests dictate our political agendas. The citizens come first.

I want to tell you about a great individual. His name is Robert Dobbs. Robert is a businessman in Myrtle Beach and is running against Henry Brown for Congress in South Carolina's First District.
Now let me tell you about a man that does NOT represent South Carolina. Henry Brown is a disgrace to the state of South Carolina. Henry Brown has opposed every piece of legislation that would help South Carolinians from the stimulus package to healthcare reform. Henry Brown has consistently voted against the best interests of the people of his district. But Henry Brown does support the corporate big business interests from the large Pharmaceutical companies the big oil companies. Henry Brown opposes clean environmental reforms and opposes the Employee Free Choice act to protect workers. Henry Brown does not work for your interests or mine.
